I came here in 2007 from an accident that left me paralyzed waist down. She has been living with her grandmother and she graduated from high school yesterday at the top of her class number 3 to be exact. I did not think I would be able to attend the graduation to see my only child walk across the stage but thanks to Capitol house they made that possible. Brenda dressed me and made me look pretty and her daughter did my hair. Margaret and Yamena stayed with me the entire time while I watched my child walk across the stage. None of this would of been possible if the Administrator Patrick did not ok it.
She had a severe stroke. The care and attention she is receiving is Wonderful. My family and I appreciate everything Capital House is doing for my sister. I want to Thank each and everyone who takes care of her. Ms.Alyson the Social Worker, the Nurse’s, CNA’s, Therapy’s, Doctor. Thank You Very Much.I have recommended Capital House to all my friends. In addition, we gave this facility a rock-bottom F in the category of short-term care. Short-term care ratings are vital for patients needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. This includes a wide scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. With a grade this poor for this category, we weren't shocked to find that this facility was well below average in many staffing areas we focus on.
Information from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
However, this metric can also be skewed for certain facilities due to inconsistent reporting standards for these infections. The Health Care Safety measure scores and ranks the frequency and severity of health care findings that may have negatively impacted the quality of care and safety for residents. The fewer the citations, the lower the severity of those citations when compared to other facilities in the same state results in a higher score and grade. I can't say enough about the skilled services at Capitol House. I have the best time with the therapy staff and my nurses Miesha, Becky, Jackie, and Yolanda.
This place is really...really a disappointment....they are extremely behind when it comes to the upkeep and look of the facility on the inside ! No electronic beds...only a few..the amount of money some of the people pay and the way it looks and how they are treated is awful !! In late April, we got a sneak peek inside the new complex continuing care centre the Government of Alberta is building at CapitalCare Norwood. Construction of the Gene Zwozdesky Centre is expected to be completed later this year with resident/patient occupancy tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2023. Neither of those happened, he received no physical therapy there and there was no attempt at all to wean him.
